THE Federal Government has announced a 12.7% reduction in allowances for foreign scholars currently stranded in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, and other countries due to economic hardship in Nigeria.
This decision was outlined in a memo signed by the Director of the Federal Scholarship Board, Ndajiwo H.A., on behalf of the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman.
The students are studying under the Federal Government’s Bilateral Educational Agreement Scholarship, which was created for educational exchange between Nigeria and partnering countries.
The Federal Scholarship Board, under the Federal Ministry of Education, supervises this scholarship program.
