The Edo State House of Assembly has formally summoned Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, the wife of music star Tuface Idibia to respond to serious allegations of misconduct.
The summons came during Tuesday’s plenary, when the Speaker announced that Natasha’s recent actions had allegedly tarnished the image of the House.
Lawmakers said the negative media reports surrounding her conduct have stirred public concern.
According to the Speaker, Natasha is expected to appear before the House’s Committee on Ethics and Privileges within one week.
She must defend herself and explain why disciplinary measures should not be taken against her.
The committee has been tasked to investigate and report back to the Assembly within a fortnight.
For now, the nature of the alleged misconduct remains vague but lawmakers insist that the investigation will follow due process.
The Assembly hopes to restore its dignity and uphold its code of conduct.
