There was confusion and anger at the polling unit of reinstated deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, after a faulty BVAS machine delayed him from voting .

Other voters at the polling unit equally failed to vote as of 12:56 when THE WHISTLER observed the process.

The faulty BVAS forced voters at Unit 5, Ward 11 at Azama Primary School, in Azama, Etsako West Local Government Area, to queue and wait in frustration.

Shuaibu said the incident was disappointing, adding, “We have been here since, and the machine is not working while the reports I’m getting from other units in this local government, they didn’t have such an issue. It is only here.

“But I would not conclude yet that it is an act of sabotage because the INEC officer has assured us that they would bring another one that is functioning and extend the time of voting to enable us to vote.

“I can also see that the INEC people are working on it.”
