EDO: Okpebholo approves four additional commissioner-nominees

THE Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four additional commissioners to join the State Executive Council, bringing the total number of nominees and appointees so far to 26.

The announcement was made in a statement yesterday by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, who noted that the names had been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The nominees include Dr. Jerry Uwangue, a seasoned engineer and CEO of J&G Engineering and Construction Services; Hon. (Barr.) Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, a former Minority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly and ex-commissioner who has held several key public service roles; Barr. Usenbo Paul Ehigie, an accomplished lawyer and governance reform advocate; and Akhigbe Osi John Sunday, a technocrat recognized for his contributions to youth empowerment and grassroots development.

Governor Okpebholo’s move further consolidates his efforts to strengthen governance in Edo State by assembling a diverse team with experience in public administration, law, engineering, and community development.
