EFCC Confirms Arrest Of Kogi State Former Governor Yahaya Bello

Yahaya Bello

The immediate past Governor of Kogi State , Yahaya Bello has surrendered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, after months of evading arrest.

A statement by Yahaya Bello’s media office confirmed that the former Kogi governor went to the EFCC office with his lawyers on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2024, following the Supreme Court judgment that dismissed the state’s case on the constitutionality of the anti-graft agency.

It was gathered that the former governor drove himself in a black Hilux to the EFCC office with his lawyers.

Recalls that the EFCC declared Yahaya Bello wanted in April over the inability of the former governor to appear before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja for his arraignment over alleged N84bn money laundering.
