El-Rufai’s son threatens to “unalive” X user over mother’s tweet

Bashir El Rufai

Bashir, son of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, has threatened to kill an X user who insulted his mother, Hadiza, over a controversial tweet.

Mrs. El-Rufai, a former first lady of Kaduna, had reacted to the United States’ travel ban on four African countries during Donald Trump’s presidency, saying, “A great percentage of these Nigerian Americans making us proud abroad are Igbos. There’s always two sides to every story.”

The tweet sparked mixed reactions, prompting her to post a follow-up message.

“No cyberbully can take away my right to express my opinion. Not everything is about politics, but that is something some of you will never understand,” she wrote.

In response, an X user with the handle @jussstice09 commented, “You no go die well ma.”

Angered by the insult, Bashir posted a now-deleted tweet threatening the user and their family.

“If you ever utter that phrase to my mother again & delete that tweet, I am going to find you (it’s easier than you think) & unalive you and your family,” he wrote.
