Elvis Presley’s ex-girlfriend refuses to watch her movie with the King | music | entertainment

This week, January 8, 2023, marks the 88th birthday of Elvis Presley. While the King of Rock and Roll has dominated the music industry and sold over a billion records worldwide, he has also released over 50 films. But one of his co-stars, Ann-Margret, has revealed that she will never watch one of the star’s films again.

Elvis met Ann-Margret on the set of their 1964 movie Viva Las Vegas. While the movie was a huge hit, it also started a passionate love affair between the two actors. Secretly, Elvis and Ann-Margaret have been together for just over a year. She described them as “soulmates” before they were forced to separate.

After he misquotes Ann Margaret in a paper, Elvis’ long-term friend Priscilla Presley (Beaulieu at the time) hears that King is secretly engaged to the Swedish-American star. I got angry and demanded to cut things off.

In 2021, Ann-Margret recalled her time with Elvis. She said, “We’ve been friends for a long time, EP [Elvis Presley] And I met on film, and we had a lot in common, including a love of Las Vegas. We got to know each other, and we had a great time together.”

Ann-Margret, now 81, added, “What can I say? Yeah, he definitely liked him and we respected him. We were so much alike and made a great movie together.”

However, she admitted that she will not watch a certain movie starring Elvis anymore.

She confessed:[I last saw Viva Las Vegas] When it came out in 1964. I haven’t seen my movies more than once. I like to keep it that way, in my memories. (via Review Journal)

But Ann-Margaret and Elvis saw each other again before his untimely death in 1977.

A few years before his death in Graceland from a heart attack, at the age of 42, Elvis Ann Margaret visited her Las Vegas residence while performing. After hanging out with her at a party, he calls her later and asks her to come over. Ann-Margret, who was married at the time to Hollywood producer Roger Smith, wrote in her diary: “He asked if he could see me. It was a question I had anticipated from then on.” [that] This afternoon but he was hoping not to really ask.”

Anne-Margret replied, “You know I can’t.” But this blunt honesty allowed Elvis to really open up to her. “I know,” he said, “but I just want you to know that I still feel the same way.”

Shortly thereafter, Elvis dies. Anne-Margret knew something was wrong because the King sent her a bouquet of flowers every day. When one of them didn’t arrive on August 17, 1977—the day after he died—I knew something was wrong. Then she got a call from Elvis’ road manager, Joe Eposito, who told her the news of his death. She answered with two simple words: “I’m coming.”

Ann-Margaret was the only person from Elvis’ Hollywood days to attend his extended funeral, which took place on August 18, 1977.
