Ember months: FRSC boss urges stakeholders to prioritise road safety

The Ekiti Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Sanya Adeoye, has charged transport stakeholders to always abide by the traffic rules and regulations, especially during the last four months of the year.

Adeoye gave the charge during an Ember months town hall meeting with stakeholders on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti with the theme: “Take Responsibility For Your Safety, Stop Distracted Driving”.

He noted that the yearly ember months road safety sensitisation and awareness campaign was becoming a tradition through which FRSC rejig its public enlightenment for a safe and stressful motoring.

The sector commander noted that available records showed that end of the year was always characterised by increase in vehicular movement with its attending road accidents.

Adeoye disclosed that the command had deployed over 750 regular and special marshals for patrol and traffic control across the state.

He said that the Corps had also deployed about 15 patrol vehicles, two ambulances and towing truck across the three senatorial districts for effective traffic control and emergency response to stem grid lock and ensure safety on the roads.

The FRSC boss further said that the command had ensure the deployment of equipment authority devices extricating machine, and alcoholiser to detect drunk drivers.

He urged motorists to drive with caution, avoid reckless driving and have adequate regard for other road users to ensure safety on the roads. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
