The Enugu State University of Science and Technology has imposed a two-year suspension on three law students over examination malpractice.
The affected students, two males and a female, will remain away from the institution from June 25, 2026, until June 24, 2028.
The university Registrar, Ambrose Ugwu, disclosed the development in separate notices issued to the students in Enugu on Monday.
The sanctioned students are Isong Ugwu, Gad Nwosu and Roseline Nnamani.
According to the Registrar, the disciplinary measure was based on the decision of the university Senate after considering the findings and recommendations of its Examinations Malpractice Committee.
Ugwu said the recommendations were approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, on behalf of the Senate.
The students were directed to leave the university immediately and return any property belonging to the institution to their respective heads of department.
The Registrar added that the university had informed both the students’ sponsors and the National Universities Commission about the sanctions.
He explained that the students would have to formally seek readmission after completing the two-year suspension before they could return to the university.
Meanwhile, the institution cleared another student of the Faculty of Law, Goodluck Iwuamadi, of an examination malpractice allegation.
Ugwu said Iwuamadi was exonerated after the Senate committee reviewed the case and recommended that no disciplinary action should be taken against him.
