‘Even If I Lose My Life’ – Pantami Vows To Challenge Gombe APC Governorship Consensus

Isa pantami

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has expressed dissatisfaction with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship consensus for the 2027 election.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Pantami, who is an aspirant for the APC governorship ticket in Gombe State, also vowed to challenge the consensus, which he described as an injustice.

Naijaonpoint reports that the former Minister claimed during the interview that he would win the party’s ticket if the APC conducts a direct primary.

He, however, vowed to challenge the consensus arrangement, saying he would take the matter to court. He added that he doesn’t mind whatever it would cost him, even his life.

“I will challenge this injustice of Gombe APC governorship consensus even if I lose my life doing it. If it’s direct primary, everybody knows, we will win. If there’s no justice, I will fight it legally, a fight like never seen before in Nigeria,” Pantami vowed.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has endorsed Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna as the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

The Governor’s decision was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting.

The party also released a list of consensus candidates for other positions. Mohammed Ahmadu Deba is picked for Gombe Central Senate, Jerry Damara for Gombe South, while Inuwa Yahaya is set to run for Gombe North Senate.

For the House of Representatives, candidates include Usman Bello Kumo (Akko), Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Ali Isa (Balanga/Billiri), Fatima Binta Bello (Kaltungo/Shongom), Saddam Bello (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye), and Jamilu Shabewa (Dukku/Nafada).
