Nigerian singer and rapper Samklef has reacted hours after Crayon called out his former label boss, Don Jazzy and Mavins Records.
The singer, who was signed to Mavins Records in 2019, in a series of now-deleted tweets, accused the music executive of being responsible for his mother’s death. He claimed Don Jazzy owes him unpaid royalties and collected $200 million without giving him a penny.
He said they want to use a delayed payment to kill him. Praying for God to punish them, he promised to bring the label down.
Reacting to it, Samklef alleged that since Don Jazzy linked up with social media activist, Very Dark Man, his artist’s career has taken a downturn.
Questioning whether it was karma, he noted that many had seen the music executive finish and that his artist, Ayra Starr, didn’t look good in her last video.

Last year, Big Brother Naija winner and singer Laycon called out DJ Neptune over unpaid royalties for their hit song, ‘Nobody’ remix, noting that they had an agreement. He questioned whether his royalties weren’t still ready, noting that it had been 4 years.
Similarly, in December of 2023, Harrysong called out Kcee over unpaid royalties and unreleased songs. He further called Kcee a bully while he pleaded with him to be fair to him and give him what rightfully belongs to him.
In an Instagram live, he expressed that for the whole 7 years which he worked for Kcee, he was broke. He went on to narrate, that, at some point, he did not even have a bed or foam for the apartment. He also revealed how he had been there for Kcee when his morale was low in pursuing his musical career.
Upcoming music producer Napji called out Davido, claiming he was the producer for Davido’s hit songs Fem, Jowo, and Sunlight on his album A Better Time, released in November 2020. He revealed that he was paid an advance of N500,000 per song, but he wasn’t paid his royalties or publishing. He threatened to release more information and urged the public to tag Davido.
Davido had reacted to it, writing, “Your papa”.
