Ex-Ikpeazu Spokesperson Declares Otti’s 2027 Re-Election Inevitable

Onyebuchi Ememanka and Governor Alex Otti

Onyebuchi Ememenka, former Chief Press Secretary to immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has declared Governor Alex Otti 2027 reelection as inevitable.

Ememanka, fondly known as ‘Ururu Aja’, who recently joined the Labour Party, took to his official social media handle to bare his heart in what he called an honest reflection of reality since May 29th, 2023, when Dr. Alex Otti assumed office as Governor of Abia State.

The former CPS who said that it is easy to know where the people stand on any issue, especially on issues of governance noted without any fear of contradiction that a very large majority of the people of Abia State are very happy with the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

He recounted how he has “fought” Governor Otti politically before and explained that he did so from the frontline and was one of the field commanders in the battle firing shots with passion.

He emphasized that he was looking forward to keeping the fight alive in the finest tradition of matured opposition. But at a point, it became clear to him that Governor Otti means business.

He wrote, “I have been here since May 29th 2023. Since the day Dr Alex Otti took over the reins of power as Governor of Abia State, I have not spent more than four nights outside of Aba.

“I live here. I work here. I see things happening. I hear too. As a full blown Aba boy, I mix well with the people.

“It’s easy to know where the people stand on any issue, especially on issues of governance.

“I can tell you without any fear of contradiction that a very large majority of the people of Abia State are very happy with the administration of Governor Alex Otti. You don’t have to believe me but facts are sacred.

“I have ‘fought’ Governor Otti before. I did so from the frontlines. I was one of the field commanders in the battle. I fired shots with passion. I fought him both as Governorship candidate and even as Governor. So, I know exactly what I am saying.

“I actually looked forward to keeping the fight alive in the finest tradition of matured opposition. But at a point, it became clear to me that this man means business.

“The people of Abia State are happy with this Governor, at least, a clear majority. This is the honest truth. I am not God. I don’t lay any claims to any powers of clairvoyance, but from what is on ground and what I can glean from public opinion, it will be almost impossible to defeat Otti in the next election.

“Like I said, you don’t have to believe me. But facts are facts.

“Has Otti solved all our problems? Of course not but he has established a clear road map to progress. In law, we say that Otti has established a clear prima facie case of a commitment to make things better here. The footprints are indelible. They are unmistakable.

“With almost two years left in his first tenure, and the clear plans to do more before the elections, I believe that the 2027 elections will be, by far, the easiest in our democratic history.

“We will see a situation where all parts of the State will speak in one clear voice in favor of Otti.

“May it be well with Abia State.”

This rare moment of political honesty from a former staunch opposition voice is already generating reactions across the state and beyond. Many see it as further confirmation of Governor Alex Otti’s growing popularity and the tangible impact of his administration across Abia State.

Observers note that this public admission from Ememenka, a known grassrooter and seasoned media strategist, is not only a political endorsement but also a reality check for the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.

As the political atmosphere in Abia continues to evolve, one thing remains clear, Governor Alex Otti’s leadership style is converting critics into believers and opponents into allies.
