The immediate past National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emmanuel Enoidem, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State.

Naijaonpoint reports that Enoidem’s defection marks a major political realignment in the state, coming after a reconciliation process facilitated by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, between him and his former political leader and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate President commended Governor Eno for promoting political unity in the state, noting that peace and cooperation among political actors were critical to accelerating development.

Akpabio spoke when the governor led a high-powered delegation of political leaders to his residence in Uyo to formally notify him of Enoidem’s decision to join the APC.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the President of the Senate, Anietie Ekong, Akpabio emphasised the importance of harmony in governance.

Governor Eno said the visit was to formally inform the Senate President of Enoidem’s decision to align with the APC.

He described the move as part of broader efforts to strengthen political cooperation and stability in Akwa Ibom State.

According to the governor, political stakeholders in the state have resolved to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and work collectively to promote development.
