Fake People – Odumeje Knocks Nigerian Pastors Over Silence On Bad Governance

Odumeje

Controversial cleric Odumeje has criticised many Nigerian pastors for staying quiet on the rising hardship in the country while enjoying the comfort that comes with political connections.

Naijaonpoint reports that during a church service, he told his members that some religious leaders benefit from the same system their followers are struggling under.

He said many of them move around with heavy security and enjoy special access to politicians but avoid speaking on the daily struggles ordinary people face.

Odumeje stated that any pastor who stands before a congregation has a duty to talk about the issues affecting the nation.

He argued that keeping quiet while members suffer under poor leadership shows that such pastors are not truly concerned about their flock.

He added that it makes no sense for church leaders to offer their members items like stickers and olive oil as solutions while they return home under police protection.

According to him, a pastor who has not made any real impact should not be boasting about spiritual authority.

Odumeje further questioned the credibility of some ministers who, in his view, have not shown any tangible results in their ministries but still parade themselves with grand titles.

He said: “Bad government they can never talk about it. Fake people. I don move by people, I follow you based on your spiritual attitude. And everyone who stands on the altar in this government, you must talk. You guys are the ones causing it, giving pastors a lot, with police and Mopols to guard them. But they will give you olive oil and sticker and tell you to go home. You trek home, while he goes home with police. One miracle you have never done in your church, but you’d be bragging that you are Bishop.,..taa. go and sit down.”
