All three deaths have been classified as murder, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Sherwin’s death was deemed suicide after it was determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials said they are continuing the investigation.

The Schmidt family went camping on the night of July 21.

Police were called to the scene on July 22, where they discovered the three bodies killed and Sherwin’s on arrival.

Arlo Schmidt was the sole survivor of the shooting, but it is unclear where he was during the attack.

The boy claimed that a gunman in black had shot his parents and six-year-old sister Lulu.

Sarah’s brother, Adam Morehouse, told The US Sun that the family had no connection to Sherwin.

“This was absolutely random.

“No one in our families had ever met the individual or the individual’s families.

“To the best of our knowledge, no interactions had taken place, and it was just one person that morning decided to pick a tent and walk in and let this devastating tragedy happen that affects multiple, multiple people and families across the Midwest. and alas, that tent belonged to my sister and her lovely family.”
