The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released images of a person of interest in the fatal shooting of conservative youth leader Charlie Kirk, offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
In photos shared Thursday via the FBI Salt Lake City field office on đť•Ź, the suspect was seen wearing a cap, dark sunglasses, a long-sleeved shirt, and jeans.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” the caption read.
In a separate post, the FBI announced a $100,000 bounty for credible leads.
“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information that can lead to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah,” the agency wrote.
The bureau urged the public to submit photos or video footage related to the shooting, stressing that efforts were ongoing to track the assailant.
“We are doing everything we can to find him, and we’re not sure how far he has gone yet, but we will do our best,” an FBI official stated.
Kirk, 31, a close ally of U.S. President, Donald Trump, was shot dead on Wednesday in what investigators described as an apparent targeted assassination.
The incident has heightened fears of escalating political violence in the United States.
Kirk, who co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012 at the age of 18, had become the face of the most significant conservative youth movement in America.
Kirk was addressing students at Utah Valley University around noon when the attack occurred.
Dressed in a white T-shirt with the word Freedom boldly inscribed, he sat under a tent, answering questions from a large crowd.
Former Utah congressman, Jason Chaffetz, who attended the event, told Fox News, “Charlie was responding to a question about transgender shooters, mass shooters, and in the midst of that, the shot rang out.”
The attack has been described as a “political assassination” by Utah’s Governor Spencer Cox, while Trump called it a “dark moment for America” in a video address.
The killing took place at the first of about 15 events Kirk was scheduled to hold nationwide before the end of October.
