19-time Turkish Super Lig winners, Fenerbahçe, have joined Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart in the race for Super Eagles and KRC Genk striker, Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old scored 23 goals and provided five assists in 45 games across all club competitions for Thorsten Fink’s side in the just-concluded season, winning the Belgian Pro League Golden Shoe.

According to Turkish outlet, Wajturk, the Fenerbahçe board are planning on building a strong squad ahead of next season so they can compete with Galatasaray, who clinched the league title in the just-concluded campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s side want to make a marquee signing, like Okan Buruk’s side did with the signature of Leroy Sane, although they still plan on bringing Victor Osimhen to RAMS Park permanently.

The Fenerbahçe board are under pressure from the supporters to establish a strong rivalry against other Turkish teams next season after they were blown away in the race for the title, and have their gaze fixed on making a big return to the top next season.

Arokodare is 1.97m tall and presents the profile of a typical Super Lig striker with his strong physique, athleticism and two-footed finishing.

It is unknown if the former FC Koln striker will be interested in a move to Fenerbahçe, although he’s previously revealed his admiration for Real Madrid, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
