Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel is at the centre of intense transfer speculation as talks over his future at Fenerbahçe enter a decisive phase, Footynaija.com reports.

The 27-year-old defender, whose contract with the Turkish giants has expired, is being closely monitored by Premier League sides Fulham and Crystal Palace, but it is Beşiktaş who appear to be leading the race for his signature.

As per Fotomac, Fenerbahçe have scheduled fresh discussions with Osayi-Samuel in the coming days, with the club hoping to persuade him to stay by improving their previous offer — a €2 million-a-year deal.

However, Beşiktaş have significantly stepped up their pursuit. The Istanbul rivals are understood to have raised their offer to match the €2 million annual salary over a three-year contract, placing them in pole position to secure the services of the Super Eagles full-back.

Beşiktaş have reportedly made considerable progress in talks with the player’s representatives and are now awaiting Osayi-Samuel’s final decision. The versatile defender, who earned €1.8 million annually at Fenerbahçe last season, is said to be weighing up his options carefully, with a decision expected imminently.

Osayi-Samuel, who joined Fenerbahçe from QPR in 2021, has become a key figure in the Turkish Super Lig and for Nigeria, and his next move could define the peak years of his career.

A tug-of-war now looms between two Istanbul giants and the Premier League suitors.
