The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement made available to NaijaOnPoint Nigeria on Tuesday night.

The holiday is meant to honour the contribution of workers to the country’s development.

The government acknowledged that the commitment and hard work shown by Nigerian workers have helped the country earn respect globally and move forward in many areas.

Workers were praised for their discipline and dedication to their duties.
