The Nigerian government and on-demand delivery platform Glovo, and private sector players are in collaborating to explore solutions for bridging logistics gaps and accelerating Nigeria’s e-commerce sector.

At a stakeholder forum held in Lagos recently, Innovation & Digital Economy, policymakers, technology leaders, called for improved logistics infrastructure and deeper digital integration to drive e-commerce growth in the country.

In a keynote address, Postmaster-General of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, representing the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, highlighted the critical role of logistics in Nigeria’s digital economy.

The minister underlined NIPOST’s vast physical infrastructure and its potential to enhance last-mile delivery.

“By aligning our extensive network with digital platforms, we can create an efficient logistics framework that benefits businesses, especially SMEs, and ensures that e-commerce reaches every corner of Nigeria,” he said.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of Glovo’s Yellow Effect Report by William Benthall, Global Director of Government Relations at Glovo.

The report examined Africa’s digital commerce landscape, Glovo’s five-year journey, and the importance of innovative logistics solutions in empowering businesses.
