“Foreign Investors Will Not Come If Local Investors Are Not Faring Well”: Dangote Urges FG To Prioritise Domestic Investors

The Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has urged the Federal Government to prioritise the well-being of local investors, warning that foreign investors will be discouraged from investing in Nigeria if domestic investors are not thriving.

Dangote disclosed this while speaking in Jalingo during the 2025 Taraba International Investment Summit (TARAVEST) on Wednesday.

He asserted that everyone Naira made from local investment in Nigeria, fifty-two Kobo goes to the federal government through taxes.

Dangote advised governments at all levels to encourage domestic investors, as they attract foreign investors to invest in Nigeria.

“I wish to advise government at all levels here to encourage domestic investors. Foreign investors would not just come to invest in a place if local investors are not faring well.

“Encouraging domestic investors is a huge step for development of every state. Let me disclose to you here that everyone Naira turned around in local investment, 52 Kobo goes to the federal government as taxes.

States would develop unimaginably if local investors, and investment is encouraged.

“For us at Dangote Group, we would continue to invest in Nigeria to create employment to the indigent”, he noted.

While commending governor Agbu Kefas for the (TARAVEST) initiative, Chief Dangote expressed that Taraba was a viable state for investment particularly in agriculture, and assured governor Agbu Kefas’ of his determination to support investment strive in Taraba.
