Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al-Ittihad have officially announced the signing of Nigerian forward Francisca Ordega, Soccernet.football reports.
A four-time Africa Women Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champion, Ordega joins the club on a two-year contract as a free agent after her deal with Russian giants CSKA Moscow expired.
The move reunites Ordega with fellow Nigerian international Ashleigh Plumptre, further strengthening Al-Ittihad’s squad with an injection of experience and proven quality.

Known for her pace, creativity, and eye for goal, Ordega’s addition is expected to boost the team’s attacking options significantly.
During her tenure with CSKA Moscow, Ordega demonstrated her class and consistency. She featured in 84 matches, scored 29 goals, and registered 20 assists. Her contributions were instrumental in the club’s domestic success, helping them claim two Russian Cup titles, one Super Cup, and four Super League runner-up finishes.
Ordega’s departure from CSKA Moscow marked the end of a fruitful chapter in Europe, where she consistently showed her talent on the continent’s big stages. However, her move to Al-Ittihad signals a fresh challenge and a new opportunity to leave her mark in the Middle East.
On the international stage, Ordega remains a stalwart for Nigeria. A loyal servant of the Super Falcons, she has represented the nation across all levels, from the under-17 and under-20 teams to the senior squad. Her illustrious career includes appearances at four FIFA Women’s World Cups (2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023) and multiple WAFCON triumphs.
By joining Al-Ittihad, Ordega becomes part of the growing wave of top international talent opting for the Saudi Women’s Premier League, a competition on the rise.
