Former Super Eagles striker Dominic Iorfa believes Kelechi Iheanacho can revive his career in the Turkish Super Lig where Besiktas have been credited with an interest in securing his services, Footynaija.com reports.
Iheanacho’s career has hit a downward spiral since he swapped Leicester City for Sevilla in the summer of 2023. The versatile Nigerian attacker failed to settle into life in Seville and subsequently spent the second half of the 24/25 season on an underwhelming loan spell at Middlesbrough.
Sevilla, who branded Iheanacho’s signing a mistake, want to cut ties with the Super Eagles star and reports from Turkish media suggest that former Super Lig champions Besiktas are paying attention to the situation.
With the possibility of a potential move to Turkey on the cards for Iheanacho, Iorfa, who spent a couple of years plying his trade with Galatasaray, believes joining Besiktas could help the former Manchester City forward rediscover his rhythm.

“Turkey will be a nice place for him to go and show what he can do because I believe he still has a lot in him,” Iorfa stated as per quotes revealed by Footy Africa.
“He has not been stable for a while, and I think that in Turkey, especially with Besiktas, he will finally get back among the goals.
“If the move materialises, I am sure the Besiktas fans will love him. He is a skilful player who can score and create goals. I hope he gets the move and returns to regular first-team football again.”
Iheanacho is believed to be available for a relatively modest sum of €3 million. A move to Besiktas would see the 28-year-old reunite with former Leicester City teammate Wilfred Ndidi and line up against Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray.
Whether Besiktas will launch a bid for Iheanacho before the end of the transfer window remains uncertain at this point. But it is looking increasingly likely that the Nigerian forward’s days at Sevilla are numbered.
