Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has had a good start to life at Celtic since joining the Hoops on a free from Sevilla in the summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist in four games, scoring against Kilmarnock and Crvena Zvezda, and setting one up away to Partick Thistle.

The former Manchester City forward has also earned praise from the club’s head coach, Brendan Rodgers, and former Leicester striker, Gary Lineker.

Celtic captain lauds Iheanacho

Ten-time SPFL winner, Callum McGregor, recently spoke about the impact the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup has had since joining the Hoops.

“I think the first time I saw him, you know, you can just tell by the way someone hits the ball—you think, ‘Right, he can play,” the retired Scotland midfielder said in quotes revealed by Glasgow Times.

“He’s got a big pedigree. He’s played at big clubs and obviously played under the manager at Leicester as well, and you can see he’s a good player.”

“The reason we’ve got him is probably because he’s lacking a bit of game time and just needs to get up to speed.

“The good thing is, he’s come in and his attitude’s been amazing. It’s a good business that comes in many forms.

“You don’t always need to pay big money for good players—it’s about getting them at the right time and getting them hungry.

“There are so many factors involved when you sign players. You need them at the right moment,” the 32-year-old concluded.
