Fortis Global Insurance

A new chief executive has been appointed by Fortis Global Insurance Plc and she is Mrs Nomwen Imariagbotua Emeghalu.

She is taking over from Mr Paulinus Offorzor, who resigned from the position to focus more on his personal business, which the firm said has suffered from.

In a statement to the investing community through the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, Fortis Global Insurance said the decision to choose Mrs Emeghalu as Mr Offorzor’s successor was reached at the board meeting held on June 23, 2025.

However, the appointment of the chief executive became effective August 27, 2025, and Offorzor has been thanked for his contributions to the growth of the underwriting firm.

“We wish to notify the NGX and the investing public of the resignation of Mr Paulinus Offorzor as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.

“His resignation was premised on his decision to devote more time to his personal career, which had been put on hold since he embarked on the demanding journey of rebirthing and repositioning Fortis Global Insurance Plc.

“Following the decision of the Board of Directors at its meeting held on June 23, 2025, Mrs Nomwen Imariagbotua Emeghalu has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Global Insurance Plc, with effect from August 27, 2025.

“The Board of Directors expresses its profound appreciation to Mr Offorzor for his visionary leadership and outstanding contributions to the company and wishes him success in his future endeavours.

“The board equally welcomes Mrs Emeghalu and looks forward to her leadership in driving the continued growth and transformation of the company,” the statement read.
