Fox News on Saturday issued a report that has fueled speculation that Donald Trump is “walking back” his statement that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday.
“The Trump campaign now walking back a Truth Social post from the former president saying that he will be arrested on Tuesday,” the Fox News report claimed. “A Trump spokesperson is now saying there has been no notifcation of forthcoming charges beyond what they are calling, quote, ‘illegal leaks to the media’.”

As Fox News Digital earlier reported, former President Donald Trump has seen no “notification” — other than “illegal leaks” to the press — that he will be arrested next week, according to a spokesperson who says Trump is “rightfully highlighting his innocence.”
“There has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Justice Dept. and the DA’s office, to NBC and other fake news carriers, that the George Soros-funded Radical Left Democrat prosecutor in Manhattan has decided to take his Witch-Hunt to the next level. President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system,” a Trump spokesperson said, adding that the former president would be in Texas next weekend for a “giant rally.”
The statement follows reports that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is preparing to issue an indictment for alleged “hush money” payments Trump made as a presidential candidate in 2016.
Trump lashed out at the reports suggesting he would be arrested next week via his Truth Social app on Saturday morning, telling his supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE BACK OUR NATION.”
“NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” Trump wrote.
A court source told Fox News Digital that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office will meet with law enforcement to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week.”
The Manhattan D.A. issued a statement on Saturday night saying his office will not be “intimidated” about potential blowback.
“Please know that your safety is our top priority,” Bragg’s email read in part. “We have full confidence in our outstanding security staff and investigators, along with our great OCA and NYPD colleagues, and will continue to coordinate with all of them. We do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York.”
“Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” the email continued.
“This office is full of the finest public servants in the country,” the message added. “I am committed to maintaining a safe work environment where everyone is able to continue to serve the public with the same diligence and professionalism that make this institution so renowned. In the meantime, as with all of our investigations, We will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly, and speak publicly only when appropriate.”
There are currently no Truth Social posts on Donald Trump’s account or public statements by the former president that strongly indicate he is “walking back” his comments.
