The duo of FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and Geo-Fluids Plc weakened the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.31 per cent on Monday, October 27.

The NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went down by 11.39 points to 3,643.41 points from the previously quoted 3,654.80 points, and the market capitalisation dropped N6.82 billion to close at N2.179 trillion in the session versus the N2.186 trillion quoted at the preceding session.

During the trading day, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N4.44 to end at N51.86 per share versus N56.30 per share, and Geo-Fluids Plc declined by 21 Kobo to end at N3.99 per unit versus N4.20 per unit.

On the flip side, the price of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by 55 Kobo to close at N49.00 per share, in contrast to the N48.45 per share it ended last Friday.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded contracted by 83.8 per cent to 928,306 units from the previous 2.9 million units, the value of securities fell by 45.8 per cent to N23.9 million from N44.1 million, and the number of deals fell by 37.5 per cent to 15 deals from the 24 deals achieved in the preceding trading day.

At the close of transactions, Okitipupa Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 170.3 million units worth N8.0 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units traded for N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 46.7 million units valued at N2.1 billion.

Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc maintained its position as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units transacted for N419.7 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units sold for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units valued at N4.2 billion.
