Major League Soccer (MLS) has unveiled its top 25 best-selling jerseys for 2024, and Lionel Messi’s name unsurprisingly sits at the top of the list, Soccernet.football reports.
The Inter Miami CF captain has drawn massive attention since joining the club, helping to lead his team to one of its most successful seasons.
His long-time friend and fellow striker, Luis Suárez, comes in second on the list, demonstrating the global appeal of both players in the United States.
Messi and Suárez are among four Inter Miami players to make the top 25 list, underlining the Miami club’s star power.
Former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are ranked 11th and 15th, respectively. This marks a significant presence for Inter Miami, which has flourished in the 2024 season by securing a place in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs and leading the Supporters’ Shield standings.
The four stars have made pivotal contributions to Miami’s success. Messi has dazzled fans with 14 goals and 14 assists. Suárez leads the team in scoring with 17 goals and has chipped in six assists, while Busquets has been a key figure in midfield, making 26 appearances out of 28 regular season games.
On the left flank, Alba has added four goals and 11 assists, showcasing his continued attacking threat.
Also on the list are former Arsenal and AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud and one-time Crystal Palace ace Christian Benteke.
The rankings are based on overall retail sales of Adidas MLS jerseys from January 1 to August 31, 2024, through MLSstore.com.
