Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named among the three finalists for the CAF Player of the Year award.
Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray and won the prestigious honour in 2023, will battle Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain) for Africa’s top individual prize.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the three-man shortlist on Sunday evening for the award last won by Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman.
In the women’s category, Nigeria also earned a strong representation as Rasheedat Ajibade made the final shortlist. She will compete against Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy.
The CAF Awards 2025 ceremony will hold on November 19 in Rabat, Morocco, starting at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT).
