The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Monday confirmed that 16 military officers were arrested over acts of indiscipline and breaches of service regulations, with some of them set to face trial before military judicial panels.
Naijaonpoint reports that the officers are set to face trial for offences, including an alleged plot to overthrow the government of President Bola Tinubu.

This development was confirmed in a statement in Abuja by the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Samaila Uba.
According to him, the panel had concluded its investigation and found that several of the officers had cases to answer. He said the affected personnel would now face a military court-martial in line with established procedures and extant regulations.
He narrated that the actions of the affected officers were “inconsistent with the ethics, values and professional standards expected of members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”
