Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has berated a netizen over the acquittal of Dr Olufemi Francis Olaleye, who has now been remanded in the UK.
Henshaw had stated that Appeal Court judge, Justice Olukayode Bada, should feel ashamed for acquitting a suspect who is now facing fresh charges abroad.
Reacting, a netizen with the user name “Foundational Nupe Lawyer” called the actress ignorant, explaining that the Court of Appeal is handled by a three-member panel, not a single judge.
He added that an acquittal in Nigeria does not determine the outcome of a separate case in the UK, as both involve different charges and different victims.
Kate Henshaw responded with insults of her own, countering his remarks and reaffirming her stance.

Foundational Nupe Lawyer @egi_nupe, “This ‘Aunty Triage’ go just dey fool anyhow with her ignorant comments. The Court of Appeal is not presided over by 1 but 3 Justices. So it’s legally and practically impossible for Justice Bada to free one person. Moreso, there’s also an option of appealing to the Supreme Court. It is not today that judgements of lower courts get set aside or affirmed by the appellate courts.
“I’ve told you people that emotional justice has no place in our legal system. It’s strictly based on fact, evidence and law. No court or judge will come to your rescue or decide a case your way where facts, evidence and the law are against you. Also, no court will throw you into jail where the fact, law and evidence favour you.
“Additionally, the fact that someone is freed here in Nigeria and remanded abroad does not mean that as a matter of certainty, they will be jailed abroad. The process, as laid down in their justice system, will also be fully explored. More so, there are different offences alleged here in Nigeria and that of the UK. The persons against whom the alleged offences are committed are different. Different offences, different victims and different charges.
