Funkmaster Flex is sounding off after Drake appeared to take a victory lap over the end of Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, and he is not amused.
On a recent episode of his Hot 97 show, Flex addressed Drake’s axe emoji reaction to news that Ebro Darden’s longtime morning program had been canceled.
“Was Drake talking slick?” Flex asked listeners. “We saw that little slick shot you took, but I know that wasn’t just at Ebro, that was at Hot 97. ’Cause we comment on you a lot.”
Ebro has since spoken publicly about the cancellation, explaining that he was fired amid internal changes at the station. “This wasn’t my decision,” he said, pointing to shifts in leadership. He also shared that Drake reached out privately after the emoji stirred backlash. According to Ebro, Drake sent DMs saying ... was meant as a joke and not a personal attack.

Flex, however, was not buying it.
“I know Drake don’t like me,” he said bluntly on air. “So Drake, listen. We love you, baby. Matter fact, no I don’t.”
The longtime DJ also revisited his rocky history with the rapper, which dates back to their very public 2015 fallout.
Laughing as his co hosts tried to move on, Flex waved them off. “I got a good segment for y’all, let me live,” he said, before adding that Drake should be more focused on the competition ahead. “You’re a veteran like all of us,” Flex said. “It’s not that easy anymore.”
