Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is celebrating 27 years in the movie industry.

Taking to her Instagram page to share new photos of herself, the box office Queen noted how God’s favour and hard work have brought her this far.

She noted how it has been 27 years and counting in the acting and filmmaking industry. Speaking about her journey, Akindele said it has taught her the importance of consistency, discipline, and staying focused, which are key to achieving continuous success.

Funke expressed gratitude for the greater heights God is taking her to. She also appreciated her fans for their continuous love and support.

“God’s favour and hard work have brought me this far. It’s been 27 years and counting in the acting and filmmaking industry. The journey has taught me that consistency, discipline, and staying focused are key to continuous success.

Thank You, Lord, for the greater heights You are taking me to. To my darling fans, I see your reviews, and I truly appreciate the continuous love and support you’re showing to BEHIND THE SCENES. Eyes on the prize, no distractions, thank you”.

In the middle of the year, Funke had reflected on her early beginnings as she celebrated grace. She revealed that there was a year where she had no spotlight, but the dreams were loud, but time, growth and grace turned the process into purpose.

This year, the mother of two beat her previous box office record as her 2024 Cinema movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa became the highest-grossing film of all time in West Africa with 1.6 billion.

In an Instagram post, the box office Queen had spoken about her passion for filmmaking and directing, revealing that as a perfectionist, she strives to ensure every detail is right.

The box office Queen, while sending a message to young creatives, admitted that her journey to success wasn’t always pretty, but it was worth it. Funke expressed how proud she was that she came from a place of hustle and hard work and advice to her junior colleagues.

While speaking at an event, Funke said nobody made her a star, only God. The movie star recalled how the idea of Jenifa’s brand came to her and how someone in the industry told her to keep milking Jenifa’s brand and gave her money to finance her projects.

Last year, Funke had opened up on the hard times she experienced before rising to stardom. She revealed that she faced different challenges but learned to stand tall and encourage others because of them.
