Galatasaray are moving into the final phase of completing the full transfer payment for Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Turkish champions are edging closer to settling the club-record €75 million agreement struck with Napoli in the summer.
Osimhen, who initially arrived in Istanbul on loan for the 2024–25 campaign, delivered an outstanding season that left Galatasaray in no doubt about making the deal permanent. His performances triggered lengthy negotiations that eventually resulted in the highest transfer fee ever paid in Turkish football history.
According to a report by Fanatik, Galatasaray paid €40 million upfront to Napoli and made a second instalment of €17.5 million last month.
The reports also revealed that the final instalment, another €17.5 million, is scheduled for March, meaning the entire fee will be settled by April 2026. To date, Galatasaray have already cleared €57.5 million of the record-breaking total.
The 26-year-old Nigerian remains the centrepiece of a squad built to challenge the continent’s elite, and his scoring record since arriving in Türkiye reflects that decisive role.

Victor Osimhen becoming a modern Galatasaray icon
Osimhen’s impact on the pitch has been emphatic. He scored twice in the dramatic 3–2 victory over Samsunspor on Friday night, a performance emblematic of his influence throughout the campaign.
Since his debut last September against Çaykur Rizespor, Galatasaray have scored 160 goals in 69 matches, and Osimhen has contributed 48 of them in just 55 appearances, accounting for nearly a third of the team’s output.
This season alone, the forward has 11 goals from 14 matches across all competitions. Six of those have come in the UEFA Champions League, where he is currently second in the top-scorer chart behind Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, who has nine. Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland follow with five each.
In Europe, Osimhen has reached another major milestone. His 12 goals in continental competitions make him Galatasaray’s joint-highest foreign scorer in Europe, alongside Milan Baros and Shabani Nonda. He has moved ahead of Mario Jardel and club legend Gheorghe Hagi, who each managed 11.
Domestically, the Nigerian has entered elite company as well. His brace against Samsunspor took him to 48 goals for Galatasaray, placing him fifth on the all-time foreign scorers’ list. Only Hagi (72), Mauro Icardi (68), Milan Baros (61) and Bafetimbi Gomis (51) remain ahead of him. Four more goals will take him past Gomis into fourth place, a feat that appears increasingly inevitable given his form and consistency.
For Galatasaray, the investment in Osimhen is already paying dividends. The Nigerian has become both a symbol of the club’s ambition and a major contributor to its success, combining relentless work rate with decisive finishing. As the final stage of the €75 million transfer nears completion, the striker continues to justify every euro spent.
