Samsung has begun the rollout of the Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch update for Galaxy smartwatches. Last month, the Galaxy Watch 6 series got the stable One UI 6 Watch update in the US. Now, the South Korean tech giant is rolling out the stable One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Watch FE.
The stable One UI 6 Watch update is available for the Galaxy Watch 5 series in Europe
The stable One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is initially rolling out in European countries. The latest software update for the Galaxy Watch 5 (Wi-Fi) carries a firmware version R910XXU1CXK1. Whereas, the new update comes with a firmware version R920XXU1CXK1 for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (Wi-Fi).
It’s worth noting that this is a massive update for the Galaxy Watch 5 series with an installation package size of around 1.8GB. You’re likely to see a bunch of new features including the Galaxy AI-powred sleep tracking and analysis.
Besides, the latest update also adds Workout Routines and Double Pinch gestures to the Galaxy Watch 5 (Review) and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. You’ll also notice some improvements when using the Calendar and Samsung Health app post-update.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is also getting this update
Samsung is also pushing the stable Wear OS 5-based One UI 6 Watch update to the affordable Galaxy Watch FE. The latest update is live in almost all regions, including Asian and European markets. The latest update for the Galaxy Watch FE comes with a firmware version R861XXU1BXI4.
The download size of the One UI 6 Watch update on the Galaxy Watch FE is 1,759MB. It also brings the September 2024 security patch to the smartwatch. The Galaxy Watch FE users are also getting an additional update of about 345MB. Similar to the Galaxy Watch 5 series, the stable update brings multiple UI design and usability improvements.
You can now save images received via messages on the Galaxy Watch FE’s internal storage.
