A Nigerian man identified as @Mubarack_Umar on X (formerly Twitter) has accused his gateman of poisoning him and stealing his money while he was hospitalized and unconscious.
In a detailed post shared on social media, Umar claimed that the incident occurred on Wednesday, when he suddenly fell ill after allegedly being poisoned by the gateman. He was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, and while he battled for his life, the gateman reportedly took advantage of the situation to enter his room and cart away his money.
In a surprising twist, Umar said the gateman called him the following morning at exactly 9:52 a.m. seemingly to confirm whether he had died. After a brief exchange, in which the gateman wished him a quick recovery, he reportedly switched off his phone and disappeared.
“Our gateman allegedly poisoned me last Wednesday. After I was rushed to the hospital unconscious, he entered my room and stole my money thinking I wouldn’t survive,” Umar wrote.
“The next morning, he called to check on me and wished me a quick recovery. Five minutes later, he turned off his phone and disappeared with my money.”
Umar also shared images of his hospital medication and call logs to support his claims.
Public Reactions
The revelation has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with users expressing disbelief, sympathy, and a demand for further details.
@Universalpresi2 questioned the evidence, writing, “Screenshot with no name, picture of a hand with no face. Drop his number; people that can help you track him are online. Police can also assist. Who rushed you to the hospital? Does he cook for you? Give us the full story.”
In response, Umar clarified: “Suspect identity needs to be protected, bro. All that you listed here is being done currently.”
@DejiAdesogan wrote: “Incredible. Get well soon bro. DM the gateman’s mobile line—he won’t run forever.”
@enyola commented: “I have a feeling he will be caught faster than he would have imagined.”
@muhsin234 added: “Shocking! I wish you a quick recovery! I hope he gets arrested.”
While details surrounding how the alleged poisoning occurred remain unclear, Umar stated that relevant authorities are already working on the case.
