It feels like Ghost of Yotei just came out, and if you haven’t had a chance to play it yet, you may want to wait for this fresh, upcoming massive update. Sucker Punch Productions and Sony aren’t done with Yotei by a long shot, it seems, as they just announced that a big free patch is coming soon.
Revealed by the PlayStation Blog, Ghost of Yotei will be getting a free patch on November 24, which will add many new features to the game, including a mode fans have requested since day one.
Ghost Of Yotei Is Getting New Game Plus
It’s Part Of A Big Patch
The most significant addition of the November 27 Ghost of Yotei patch is easily New Game Plus (also known as NG+). It’s a feature fans have been wanting for ages, and is typically delivered sometime after launch for first-party Sony games. In this case, New Game Plus will predictably unlock after you complete the main story, and will add “new harder difficulty options” as well as two trophies linked to the mode.
As a fan of the action-adventure genre as a whole, New Game Plus is a fantastic way to add a bit of intrigue to future playthroughs. I typically finish games like Ghost of Yotei near launch, then wait to replay them and jump straight into New Game Plus. While not every NG+ mode is created equal, Yotei seems to “plus things up” a bit with a new currency called Ghost Flowers, which can be used to buy “more than 30 new cosmetics,” including dyes, charms, and armor sets.
Ghost Of Yotei Is Getting Tons Of New Features
Including Cosmetics And New Trophies
Sucker Punch isn’t stopping there, as Ghost of Yotei will get a few more features in addition to New Game Plus. You can replay post-game content after the main story now, complete with a “new stats display.” Additional accessibility options are also in, notably directional button remapping, as well as extra photo mode features (like a composition grid and more filters). It should make for a great holiday present for current and future Ghost of Yotei players.
In classic first-party Sony form, Ghost of Yotei is getting the first big post-launch patch that brings it more in line with their past games, in terms of extras and polish. Now we just need that killer multiplayer component from Ghost of Tsushima, which defied everyone’s expectations.
