‎The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 3 Operation FANSAN YAMA, Major General C.R. Nnebeife, has led troops in the rescue of two kidnapped victims following a bandit attack near Idofin, Ayekale Village, Omu-Aran Local Government Area of Kwara State.

‎During his operational visit to Patrol Base Babanla on 9 October 2025, Major General Nnebeife and his troops advanced towards Babasango Forest, where they successfully freed the victims and later handed them over to the traditional ruler, Oba Pius Oluwole Oni Dofin of Idofin Ayekale.

‎The GOC also paid a condolence visit to the monarch, following the killing of three persons by bandits at Olegbede village, about 12 kilometres from Idofin Ayekale. Oba Pius attributed the attack to the community’s proximity to the Babasango Forest.
