Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, the founder of the Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, has announced the commencement of Sunday services in Abuja as part of his ministry’s new direction.
In a move that has drawn reactions, he also confirmed that offerings will not be collected during the services, following a specific instruction from God.
The announcement was made in an online message posted on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and monitored by Church Times.
In the video, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo explained that his ministry’s core mission is centered on discipleship and the spiritual growth of individuals, with a primary focus on following Jesus Christ, rather than traditional church financial practices.
Pastor Oyedepo clarified that while there is no issue with offerings in other ministries, God had specifically instructed him not to collect offerings for this particular assignment.
He highlighted that the ministry’s priority is the spiritual development of its members, which aligns with the early ministry of Jesus Christ, who focused on building discipleship rather than financial gain.
“I’ve been given specific instructions not to collect offerings. While there is nothing wrong with the practice elsewhere, for this assignment, my focus must remain solely on making disciples and equipping people to follow Jesus,” he explained.
In his video, Pastor Isaac referenced the early ministry of Jesus Christ as a model for his approach.
He noted that Jesus’ ministry was focused on creating disciples, and it was only through that process that the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon the followers, filling them spiritually.
“All Jesus did during His early ministry was to make disciples; the fire fell, and they were filled and refilled. Before He left, He commanded us to do the same,” he said.
He further emphasized the importance of spiritual growth, stressing that it requires a consistent journey through the Word of God.
“How healthy would our churches be if people were truly deep in the Scriptures?” Pastor Isaac questioned.
The launch of Sunday Services in Abuja coincided with Pastor Isaac Oyedepo’s transition to his independent ministry, which he officially announced on November 28, 2023. Born on February 26, 1985, Pastor Isaac had served at Living Faith Church (also known as Winners Chapel), the global ministry founded by his father, Bishop David Oyedepo, for many years before stepping out to establish his own ministry.
