X-Men’s Wolverine is known for his incredibly potent healing factor, but even he was just forced to admit that another character has the best of all time. That’s bad news, because the new king of the healing factor is currently tearing their way through Earth’s heroes.
Godzilla Has Marvel’s Most Powerful Healing Factor
So Far, No Force on Earth Has Slowed Down the King of Monsters
The X-Men finally join the battle in today’s Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #3 – from Gerry Duggan, Paco Medina, Javier Garrón, Jesus Aburtov and Travis Lanham. While Wolverine slashes Godzilla, Jean Grey blasts it with telekinesis and Gambit and Rogue even charge gigantic prop playing cards to throw at it, the most they can do is make Godzilla pass out for a matter of seconds.
Even when Magneto turns Wolverine into a spinning drill and cuts out Godzilla’s heart, he can’t even finish boasting before the King of Monsters is back on its feet. Fans had imagined that the combined might of the Avengers, X-Men and Doctor Strange would be enough to bring down Godzilla, but the titan’s amazing healing shows why that isn’t the case.
Is Godzilla Really This Good at Healing?
Godzilla’s immense healing factor isn’t a total surprise to fans, as the various movies have established that Godzilla can heal from almost anything. In the recent Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla regenerates after being exposed to the bends and then having its head blown off.
More dramatically, in 1995’s Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, Godzilla is sliced in two by Destoroyah’s horn. However, the injury is non-lethal because by the time Destoroyah has cut across Godzilla’s body, the far side of the wound has already healed. The more radiation Godzilla absorbs, the more indestructible the creature is shown to be.

Even Dormammu Is Terrified of the Kaiju
Godzilla isn’t just Marvel’s best healer – it’s also a staggering powerhouse. The issue sees Godzilla briefly exiled to the Dark Dimension, where it attacks Dormammu so badly that the godlike villain quickly brings it back to Earth. Dormammu is among the most powerful beings in the multiverse, and yet Godzilla laid into him like he was just another kaiju.
As the Black Panther and Bruce Banner prepare another wave of attacks on Godzilla, it’s starting to seem like there’s nothing Marvel’s heroes can do to stop the monster. In the recent Godzilla vs. Thor, Thor only won by unleashing so much energy, Asgard was totally destroyed. Even then, both he and Godzilla were killed, continuing their battle in the afterlife realm of Hel.
If Godzilla can survive having its heart torn to shreds and instantly brutalize Dormammu, Marvel’s heroes are running out of options for how to win the day. Fans thought that Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe was going to be a fun fight between a giant monster and a group of superheroes, but with its raw power and unbeatable healing factor, Godzilla is coming across as something more like a god.
