Google has released Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 for supported Pixel devices. The latest update isn’t meant for general users, but it includes multiple bug fixes and experimental features. The company has also attempted to improve the stability of the Android 15 OS with the update.
Google has released the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 factory image and OTA files
Google is actively developing Android 15 for mainstream deployment. However, until the stable version of Android 15 is ready, several Pixel devices can try out the latest beta version of the operating system.
As reported by DroidLife, Google has released factory images and OTA files for several generations of Pixel devices starting from the Pixel 6. Specifically speaking, Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 is currently available for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google released the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 a few weeks ago. This version caused Android Auto to break down. It is quite likely that Google may have fixed the issue in this release.
What does the latest beta version of Android 15 OS offer?
The Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 has a build number AP41.240823.009. The previous version had the August 2024 security patch. Google has included the September 2024 security patch in the latest version. The search giant has even updated Google Play services to version 24.28.35.
Google has published a detailed blog about the latest beta build of Android. This update seems to largely contain bug fixes that several developers and users had reported.
The Quarterly Platform Releases or QPR builds are bigger and more significant updates compared to the typical monthly security patch builds. Google usually ties these updates to “Pixel Feature Drops”.
Needless to mention, the Android QPR builds aren’t meant for general users. These contain experimental features and should be considered unstable. Google releases them so that testers can help the company identify and fix bugs.
