Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, went into a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday at the State House.

Naijaonpoint learnt that Tinubu and Soludo met in a closed-door session after the latter’s reception following his courtesy visit to the President.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, Chris Aburime, in a statement on Friday, said Tinubu received his principal with excitement, describing him as his long-standing friend of over 22 years.

Aburime also noted that Tinubu congratulated Soludo over the outcome of the last gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

He said, “The President used the occasion to further congratulate Governor Soludo on his landslide victory in the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election.

“Recall that President Tinubu had earlier issued a congratulatory message to Governor Soludo immediately the governorship election was concluded.”

Recall that Governor Soludo was declared the winner with 73% of the votes cast by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Meanwhile, Soludo on Tuesday, November 25, laid before the Anambra State House of Assembly a ₦757 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year, saying it reflects a renewed push to accelerate his administration’s development blueprint.

Tagged “Changing Gears 3.0: Solution Continues,” the governor said the budget intensifies the execution of the transformative agenda his administration has pursued since inception.

Soludo revealed that the proposal allocates ₦595.3 billion to capital expenditure, representing 79% of the total budget size, a continuation of his infrastructure-driven governance philosophy.

Recurrent expenditure stands at ₦161.6 billion, or 21% of the budget.

The governor disclosed that the spending plan carries a ₦225.7 billion deficit, which will be financed through a mix of public-private partnerships, improved IGR, concessions, and support from financial institutions.
