Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has donated a 1.9-hectare plot of land, valued at N3 billion, to the newly established North West Development Commission (NWDC) for the construction of its permanent headquarters in Kano.
The land, taken from the premises of Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV), was given free of charge as part of the Kano State Government’s support for the commission’s establishment.
Governor Yusuf made the announcement on Thursday while receiving the Chairman and management team of the NWDC at the Government House. He also pledged to provide temporary office accommodation, along with necessary renovations, to ensure that the agency commences operations without delay.
“This donation is part of our commitment to ensuring the North West Development Commission succeeds in its mission,” the governor stated. “The region faces critical challenges, including insecurity, hunger, and malnutrition, and we must act swiftly to address them.”
