Gov Zulum Declares One-Day Fasting and Prayers Over Insecurity in North-East

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has called on residents to observe a voluntary fast and prayers on Monday to seek Allah’s guidance amid ongoing security challenges in the state.

In a statewide broadcast on Saturday, he said, “Collective prayer and fasting can strengthen communal faith and bring relief to the state.” He urged citizens to “remain calm, steadfast, and united” during these difficult times.

Gov. Zulum explained that the fast is intended to unite people in prayer, “seeking divine intervention to ease difficulties facing Borno State and the country at large.”

He reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to stability, security, and welfare, stressing the importance of patience and calmness.

The governor also called on religious and community leaders to support the initiative, highlighting the historical significance of collective supplication in Borno.

In addition, Zulum promised to support farmers by providing resources to boost agricultural production across the state.
