Gunmen have abducted Friday Adehi, pastor of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN), and a church member, Gabriel Ezekiel, in Kogi state.
The incident occurred on Sunday along the Ajegwu-Ojodu road in Ofu LGA.
It was gathered that the victims were travelling on a motorcycle after attending a naming ceremony when the assailants struck.
An eyewitness said the attack happened between 3 pm and 4 pm.
The source said: “The kidnappers, who were laying ambush, suddenly burst onto the road when they sighted the motorcyclist approaching. They stopped them at gunpoint and directed them into the bush.”
Local vigilantes working with the military are said to be on the trail of the abductors.
Residents have also launched a community effort to clear bushes along the Itobe-Anyigba road to expose criminals who use the area for ambush.
