Gunmen murder APC chair in Osun, police launch manhunt

Some unknown gunmen on Monday, killed Chief Gbenga Ogbara, the All Progressives Congress(APC) chairman in Atakunmosa East Local Council Development Area of Osun State.

The gunmen were said to have invaded his house at Igangan in the midnight and shot him in his sitting room.

The incident caused panic in the area as police operatives evacuated his corpse and deposited at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesha.

Osun Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to The Nation.

He noted that operatives have been drafted to the area.

She said: “The APC chairman was killed around 12am by some gunmen.

“Policemen have since been deployed to the area. Investigation is ongoing on the matter. The criminals will not escape justice.”
