The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has been cleared to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary ahead of the 2027 elections.
Naijaonpoint reports that Hamzat appeared before the screening committee on Saturday, 9th May, in Abuja and was cleared to participate in the primaries.
Speaking after the screening, the Lagos governorship aspirants expressed delight at the clearance to move forward.
He also expressed confidence that he is ready to take the next step towards leading Lagos to enviable heights.
Taking to his 𝕏 account to share the update, Hamzat wrote, “Today in Abuja, I appeared before the APC Governorship Screening Committee ahead of our party primaries. I am grateful for the clean bill of approval and clearance to move forward.
“This journey is about service and a commitment to all Lagosians. We have built a solid foundation and now we are ready to take the next step toward a greater and more inclusive Lagos.
“The work continues and I am ready to keep moving forward with you.”
