Second chances are as elusive as catching a Golden Snitch sometimes, but thankfully, Draco finds one in his later years and, in doing so, breaks a family chain he’d been bound in since childhood. Learning to be more understanding of non-pure-bloods and see the bigger picture of the new Wizarding World he’s a part of, Draco shifts away from his parents’ dated ideals, only to find love and start a family of his own. He marries Astoria Greengrass, and together, they have a son named Scorpius Malfoy. With plenty in the bank to tide Draco over, he begins collecting Dark artifacts and translating old manuscripts in his spare time, but his happy family life is cut short when Astoria sadly dies while Scorpius is a student at Hogwarts.
The loss marks a true test for Draco after coming into the possession of a Time Turner and fighting the urge to use it to be reunited with his wife. Instead, a path of redemption opens up when Scorpius, along with Albus Potter (son of Harry and Ginny Potter) tamper with the timeline, forcing Draco to align himself with his old school foes, the Potters, as well as Ron and Hermione Weasley. Working together, they thwart the plans of Delphini, the illegitimate daughter of Lord Voldemort, who tries to revive her father once more. As a result, a former foe of a beloved hero becomes one himself and a better person for it. Not bad for a Malfoy.
