According To Our Reporter, senior NNPP chieftain and Secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees, Buba Galadima, has strongly criticised Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over his decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a broadcast, Galadima said some politicians had earlier believed that no matter the election outcome, power would still end up in the hands of the ruling party. According to him, such thinking showed a loss of faith in justice and democracy.
He alleged that the governor abandoned the party that brought him to power because he believed aligning with the centre would guarantee political protection and recognition. Galadima stressed that Yusuf’s move raised serious questions about loyalty, trust and respect for the will of voters.
He warned that while defections may bring short-term advantage, they often damage credibility and weaken public confidence in the long run. Watch full report
