Growing up in Kiambu, her childhood was filled with trauma and silence, leaving her deeply scarred.

After secondary school, she moved to Nairobi to work, only to face more abuse—once by a man who promised a job but assaulted her, and later by her salon boss who drugged and raped her. Overwhelmed by pain and fear, Wambui turned to alcohol and unhealthy relationships before resorting to self-harm.

With faith and prayer, she found healing, got born again, and married a loving husband with whom she has been for 18 years. Wambui now urges parents to build strong bonds with their children to help them share their struggles openly.
